Meghan Markle’s new special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, debuted on Netflix on Wednesday, December 3 — but was actually filmed a year ago, Rob Shuter reveals in his Naughty But Nice Substack.
According to production sources, both seasons of the lifestyle show and the holiday special were all filmed near Meghan and Prince Harry’s Montecito, California, home concurrently in 2024, the gossip columnist reported in a story published on Thursday, December 4.
“This isn’t a new special. It’s leftover footage dressed up in ribbon,” one insider told Shuter, noting that the dead giveaway is the onscreen presence of the Suits star’s beloved beagle, Guy, who passed away in January 2025.

And it may be the final appearance of With Love, Meghan as well — because the special is a “formality,” representing Netflix executives’ last obligation as part of the Sussexes’ reported $100 million deal, sources told Shuter, despite Meghan and Harry’s insistence otherwise.
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” Meghan, 44, said in a statement from Archewell Productions released on the Netflix site on August 11, amid rumors that the arrangement would not be renewed when it expired in September.
According to the statement, Archewell had entered into a new multi-year, first look deal with the streamer for all its film and television projects.
But a Netflix source told Shuter that the decision to air repurposed Christmas clips “only confirms” that the partnership is no longer thriving: “The message is, ‘We’re done.’”
