Prince Harry is close to getting armed security protection reinstated for his family to visit his homeland, but his wife, Meghan Markle, has a few “strict personal conditions” of her own, Rob Shuter reported on Tuesday, January 13.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, will insist on being “in total control” if she attends the Invictus Games in Birmingham, England, in July, a source told Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack, adding that she has demanded extra security detail, including 24/7 drivers for a “fleet of luxury cars,” police escorts.

The As Ever founder also insists that four floors of her luxury hotel be shut down for her, the source added, with accommodations for her chef, assistant, glam team and other staff.
“This isn’t just protection,” the source said. “She’s asking for a fortress. Bulletproof glass at the Games, armed security everywhere she goes.”
In addition, none of the staff will be “allowed to look at her,” the source added, while another insider said that “anyone who has any interaction with her has to call her ‘Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.’ No exceptions.”

Of course she won’t “set foot” in Britain for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II’s 2022 funeral “without full protection” paid for by British taxpayers, another source said.
As Starpreviously reported, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, conducted a new risk assessment and determined that Harry, 41, now meets the threshold for official police protection during visits to Britain, paving the way for him to bring his entire family.
“Everything depends on the security review,” the source added of the assessment. “Until that decision is final, nothing is locked in.”
