Fans are convinced that Katy Perry’s new song, “bandaids” is about ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom. The music video, which premiered Thursday, November 7, starts off with the 41-year-old pop star accidentally dropping a ring down the sink while washing the dishes and trying to fish it out.
“Hand to God, I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned,” Perry sings. “It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.”
“Got so used to you letting me down / No use tryna send flowers now,” she says. “Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t / Band-Aids over a broken heart.”
The unlucky singer then inadvertently turns the garbage disposal on, injuring her hand.
“Tried all the medications / Lowered my expectations,” Perry sings. “Made every justification / Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow.”
“It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day is,” she continues. “I’m flatlining tryna save this.”
Still, it seems Perry has no regrets about the doomed relationship she’s singing about.
“If I had to do it all over again / I would still do it all over again,” she croons. “The love that we made was worth it in the end.”
