Sofía Vergara is furious about the way she’s depicted in Joe Manganiello‘s new memoir, Bloodlines, and is planning to get even with her ex-husband at the earliest opportunity, a source tells Star.
“Sofía is absolutely stunned that Joe would accuse her of neglecting him after everything she did for him,” says the source. “She went through hell in that marriage trying to help him battle this illness. It ruled both of their lives and she stuck by him, even when it was just constant fighting for years.”
Per People, Manganiello, 49, writes in Bloodlines that his seven-year marriage to the Modern Family actress, 54, became “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever” amid his battle with a mysterious autoimmune disease, and that she would not hug him, even when he begged her to.
“They did have a terrible time in the marriage at times, especially towards the end, but she’s disgusted that he’d bring it up all these years later to try and sell books,” the source reveals. “She really thought he was better than this, but if he wants to play dirty like this, he should expect the same back.”

Vergara isn’t “the sort of person you want to get in a fight with,” Star‘s source admits. “She does not play around.”
After Manganiello’s memoir started making headlines, the America’s Got Talent judge re-posted 35-year-old son Manolo Gonzalez‘s Instagram Story about narcissistic men to her 35.8 million followers on Friday, October 9, per Page Six.
“She has plenty that she can, and will say, when the time is right,” adds the source, even telling “friends that when she lays it all bare he’s going to regret ever starting this with her because it will not end well for him or his reputation.”
