Dominic Cooper’s Girlfriend ‘Trying Not to Read Too Much’ Into ‘Flirty’ Reunion With Ex Amanda Seyfried

Mamma Mia! is right. A new photo of exes Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper has not only caught the attention of fans but also that of his longtime girlfriend, Gemma Chan, a source tells Star.

On Wednesday, October 7, People published a photo of the former Mamma Mia! costars posing for a photo together at the Hamptons International Film Festival with their arms wrapped around each other.

“The whole internet is buzzing,” reveals the source, and “if you look at the way Amanda and Dominic are cuddling up in the photos from the film festival, it’s easy to understand why people are talking about how flirty they were.”

It doesn’t help that Seyfried’s run-in with Cooper, 48, comes less than a month after she and husband Thomas Sadoski announced their split to People.

The former couple were married for nearly a decade and share two children, daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas Jr., 5.

“Dom is insisting it is all being blown out of proportion that there is nothing to worry about and Gemma trusts him,” says the source. “She thinks Amanda is a sweet person too, so she’s trying not to read too much into the situation but it’s tough.”

After all, “Dom and Amanda have so much history,” Star‘s source notes.

The former Mamma Mia! costars dated for three years after falling in love while playing love interests in the 2008 movie musical and remained friends after their break-up, even reuniting for the 2018 sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the same year Cooper began seeing Chan, 43.

“She’s going through a divorce right now so she’s quite keen to reconnect with old friends,” the source says of Seyfried, 40. “And she says that’s all this meet-up with Dominic was: a really cozy reminder of all the good times they had.”

However, she and Cooper “may be spending a whole lot more time together soon because they both want to do another Mamma Mia! movie,” adds the source. “They’re pushing hard for it, so this isn’t a situation that’s going away.”
