Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake No Longer ‘Relate’ to One Another: ‘It’s Like Day and Night’ (Exclusive)

Jessica Biel has been working hard to expand her production company and establish herself as a top-level Hollywood mogul — but a source tells Star that she’s finding it slow going and complaining that husband Justin Timberlake is doing little or nothing to help.

“People keep wondering why they are even bothering to stay together beyond doing it for appearances and for their children,” the source says. “They really haven’t gotten more similar or more aligned over the years, and the difference between how Justin and Jessica related to one another ten years ago is like night and day compared to now.”

The source adds that the 7th Heaven alum “has focused and re-committed to her TV career” and she has goals to “expand and become a major producer in that world like Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and others have before her.”

“It’s an attainable goal for Jessica and she has great instincts and a natural talent when it comes to that stuff,” the source continues. “But Justin could be helping and he most certainly isn’t.”

Instead, the source claims that the “Sexy Back” singer, 44, “spends all his time trying to recapture the pop music success he had in his late 20s and 30s.” While Biel, 43, is “looking forward and trying to evolve,” Timberlake is “stuck in the past.”

“It’s a recipe for a pretty miserable marriage and it’s the biggest reason they don’t spend nearly as much time socializing with their couple friends the way they used to when they were young parents,” the source explains. “Individually, they’re totally fine to be around, but when they’re together, you can feel the tension. Justin’s apparent mid-life artistic crisis and embarrassing arrest did nothing to improve the situation, and it’s down to Jessica to hold the family together, but it all feels very temporary and tentative.”

Concluding, the source says, “You get the sense that one more crisis, or one more little screw-up by Justin, and the whole thing falls apart.”

As Star previously reported, Biel’s list of upcoming projects had her needing Timberlake to “be self-sufficient,” but he was hoping to jump back into family life after the end of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
