Fans may know that Jennifer Aniston has an “extreme fear of flying,” but she now says she’s overcoming it, along with the superstitions she used to hold on to, with the help of hypnosis.

In an interview with Travel + Leisure, Aniston said that although she loves getting away to “a white sandy beach and clear, crystal blue water,” she’s had to take various measures to manage her fear of flying. The 56-year-old “The Morning Show” star even admitted that she used to have superstitions like “tapping the outside of the aircraft with her right palm and stepping onto the plane with her right foot.”

I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions,” she said. “I have not been doing the right hand, right foot — and now it’s shockingly good!”

Once the plane takes off, she recommends “plugging into a good meditation.”

Of course, as a Hollywood star, Aniston has had to fly to locations all over the world, and she told the outlet her “favorite” filming location was Kauai, Hawaii, for 2011’s “Just Go with It,” followed by Italy’s Lake Como, where she filmed “Murder Mystery.” She still hopes to visit the Maldives and Japan.

Another travel habit she’s hoping to break is overpacking, but that may be even more difficult.

“You just don’t know where you’re going to be on a certain day, or what mood you’re going to be in,” she said, though her friends “really appreciate” being able to borrow all her extra clothes.
