Ben Affleck Supports Ex-Wife Jennifer Lopez in Unstoppable Amid Divorce

Life after divorce can be tricky — especially if the exes are still working together! In a recent interview, Ben Affleck had nothing but good things to say about soon-to-be ex-wife Jennifer Lopez’s performance in Unstoppable, a film he coproduced.

In the sports drama, the 55-year-old plays the mom to wrestling champ Anthony Robles, who was born with only one leg. “Jennifer is spectacular,” Ben, 52, told E.T.

No one was happier to hear that than J.Lo, an insider tells Star. Since the split, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer has made a concerted effort to preserve her image. After a solo summer she documented on social media, the Grammy nominee sat for a soul-searching interview in which she painted herself as rebuilding after her “whole… world exploded.”

The insider says Ben’s comment “means the world” to J.Lo. “She’s very happy he’s saying nice things about her.” The two seemed to be fated to be together, reuniting nearly 20 years after they broke their first engagement, but the marriage lasted only two years. “The divorce was very hard for her to accept,” says the insider. “But she reluctantly agrees that she and Ben are better off moving on separately and making the best of a sad situation.”

As for Ben, he’s long been an admirer of Jennifer’s, gushing about her before they even got back together and during the happy days of their marriage. Now, however, he may be more interested in the bottom line (Unstoppable opens Dec. 6). “A lot of people think he’s just going along with the promotional campaign and supporting J.Lo because it’s the path of least resistance,” says the insider. “At the end of the day, the guy just wants to move on.”
