Hotel breakfast just got a little sweeter.

Hampton by Hilton has launched its first-ever guest-created waffle flavor, a limited-time Peach Cobbler Waffle available this month at nearly 2,500 participating hotels across the U.S. and Canada. The new flavor arrived just in time for National Waffle Day on Aug. 24 and builds on one of the brand’s most recognizable breakfast rituals: the guest-baked Belgian waffle.

The Peach Cobbler Waffle stacks ripe peaches, oat crumble, caramel sauce and whipped cream on top of Hampton’s signature waffle. It was created by Kaylee Voight of East Lansing, Mich., who won Hampton’s inaugural Guest Waffle Boss competition after the brand invited breakfast lovers to dream up its next signature flavor last National Waffle Day.

Voight’s win came with 1 million Hilton Honors Points, a five-night stay at any Hampton by Hilton worldwide and the bragging rights that come with creating the brand’s first guest-inspired waffle.

The launch also comes as hotel breakfast continues to be a major part of the travel experience. A new Hampton by Hilton study conducted with Wired Research found that 42% of travelers say a great hotel breakfast makes them happy before hitting the road, while two-thirds, or 66%, are more likely to enjoy a sit-down breakfast while traveling than at home. Nearly four in 10 travelers, or 39%, said a hot breakfast they do not have to cook makes them just as happy as a spa day.

“At Hampton, breakfast has always been about more than what’s on the plate, it’s a reflection of Hamptonality, the warm, reliable hospitality our guests know and love,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, senior vice president and brand leader, Hampton by Hilton. “It’s rewarding to see travelers tell us what we’ve long believed: breakfast is one of the moments guests look forward to most during a stay. Every morning, guests gather around our signature waffle station to start the day together, so inviting them to help create our next waffle flavor felt like a natural way to celebrate one of Hampton’s most beloved traditions and bring Hamptonality to life in a whole new way.”

Guests make an estimated 30 million waffles each year at Hampton hotels, enough to fill Michigan Stadium 278 times over. The brand has previously served seasonal flavors including Red Velvet, Pumpkin Spice and S’mores.

The Peach Cobbler Waffle is now part of that lineup, giving travelers another reason to linger at breakfast before checkout.
