Guy Fieri Looks Unrecognizable in Surprising Transformation to Mark His 58th Birthday: ‘Just a Guy’

Guy Fieri debuted a new look that’s got many of his fans stunned at how normal he looks.

On Friday, January 23, the popular chef, TV host and restaurateur took to Instagram to celebrate his 58th birthday with a video in which he ditched his signature spiked bleach blonde hair and leather jacket look for a hairstyle of thick brown hair as well as conservative slacks and a plaid button up.

“Hey there,” he says in the video. “After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured, this year, I’d celebrate it as just a guy. Happy Birthday to me.”

The star even changed his main profile picture on Instagram.

Among the many fans and celebrity friends taking to the video to wish Fieri a happy birthday and express their surprise at his new look, was his son, Hunter, who joked, “Dad… when did you start selling insurance?”

The transformation comes after a tough year for the Food Network star. In November, he took a nasty fall down some stairs and had to undergo an emergency surgery. As Star previously reported, he had to be in a wheelchair as a result of the injury for two months.

“My doctors are all like, ‘We know you want to get after it, but let’s not go back to where we were.’ And I’m like, ‘We are never going back to that!’ That was the worst thing I’ve been through in the last 20 years,” Fieri told People in a Wednesday, January 14 interview. “But now I’ll be up and ready and healthy and rolling by the time we hit the Super Bowl for sure.”
