Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are determined to make nice with their new Ohio neighbors, says a source.
As Star previously reported, Bratenahl residents are in an uproar after plans to erect a 6-foot fence around the couple’s newly purchased 21,000-square-foot lakefront estate were approved despite objections from those living close by.
One neighbor in particular, Katherine Bolton, has also taken issue with the planting of trees near a 100-year-old clay sewer line and the “catastrophic” effects it could have on surrounding properties like hers, per the Daily Mail.
“The last thing they wanted was to have any sort of friction with their neighbors [and] have tried so hard to make sure people would be happy,” reveals the source.
Swift, 36, and Kelce, 37, “have already paid for all sorts of work that might normally be split between the neighbors,” the source notes. “And knowing Taylor, she’ll gladly pay for anything else that the neighbors might need as a result of the trees they are adding to their property because that seems to be the concern.”

Even so, all of the drama has left the couple “genuinely upset,” admits the source. “It’s hard to feel welcome when this sort of sentiment is being expressed in the community and by people living right next door.”
The newlyweds — who exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden on July 3 — “want to be seen as a positive thing for the neighborhood,” the source adds. “But if it can’t be resolved and it turns out people are just intent on being hateful towards them, it’s conceivable that they’d give up and sell the place.”
Needless to say, “that is not what they want,” shares the source. “They are looking to raise their family here, so the hope is that this ugly start isn’t going to be the whole story.”
