Guy Fieri Opens Up About His Health After Injury He Calls the ‘Worst Thing’ He’s Experienced in Decades

Guy Fieri is on the mend following his brutal accident.

In an interview with People published Wednesday, January 14, the Food Network star, 57, shared insight into how he is doing since he fell down a flight of stairs in November and underwent emergency surgery.

“I’m doing better,” the restaurateur — who had to be in a wheelchair for two months — told the outlet. “It was definitely a trying holiday, but you know what, you get some real appreciation for having the ability to just get up and walk around and do everything you used to.”

“I’m a big CrossFit and hiking guy, so eight weeks of no hiking has driven me kind of crazy,” Fieri continued. “But I’m looking forward to it, trying to take it easy.”

Fieri also shared that the injury has been a tough situation for him.

“My doctors are all like, ‘We know you want to get after it, but let’s not go back to where we were.’ And I’m like, ‘We are never going back to that!’ That was the worst thing I’ve been through in the last 20 years,” he told the publication. “But now I’ll be up and ready and healthy and rolling by the time we hit the Super Bowl for sure.”

As Star previously reported, the TV personality shared news of his fall in a November interview with Fox News Digital.

“[I] slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,” he recounted to Fox News Digital. “So, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits…. My right leg compressed into itself. And the doctor said he’s never seen — you know, in 20 years — he hasn’t seen that kind of [injury], to tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in half. Yeah, it sucked.”
