Sadie Robertsonis speaking out about a harrowing experience that no parent ever wants to face.
On Saturday, April 11, the Duck Dynasty star revealed on Instagram that her 8-month-old daughter, Kit, choked and stopped breathing. “It was truly terrifying,” she admitted.
Robertson, 28, explained that Kit was sitting in her high chair, eating a snack, when the choking began. The situation escalated quickly and the household immediately sprang into action — Robertson began performing CPR, and her mother called for paramedics as the family prayed.
The Christian speaker and author credited both her faith and preparation for helping her stay calm during the emergency. She explained that she had previously watched CPR training videos, hoping she would never need the knowledge. “I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do,” Robertson shared with her 5.2 million followers. “I felt God’s Spirit guiding me.”
Miraculously, Kit coughed and began breathing again just as paramedics arrived. Robertson rode in the ambulance with her daughter to the hospital. Her husband, Christian Huff, noticed something remarkable — a rainbow stretched over the ambulance for the entire ride.
Kit spent the night under observation and has made a full recovery, according to Robertson’s Instagram post. The baby “is now perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day!” she confirmed.
