Denise Richards Confesses to Having a ‘Very Difficult Time’ Amid Divorce From Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards had a candid conversation with her Instagram followers and admitted life hasn’t been great amid her divorce from Aaron Phypers.

“[My summer’s] been wonderful,” Richards, 54, said sarcastically in an Instagram Reel posted on Thursday, August 21, before confessing, “It’s actually been sh**ty, but I’m going to pretend like it’s all good.”

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star added that while she’s been “posting on Instagram like nothing’s going on in [her] life,” she didn’t want to continue to pretend like everything was fine because “there’s obviously been something going on.”

Richards continued, “Many of you have been so kind and so supportive of me… I just want to say, in all seriousness, that this has been a very, very, very difficult time. It’s so hard to go through a divorce. Many of you have gone through that; this isn’t my first one, it’s my second one, and I never thought I’d get divorced again. This is why I always say, ‘Never say never.’”

The Wild Things actress explained that there were “certain circumstances” surrounding her split from Phypers, 52, that were “difficult to talk about,” but she assured fans that eventually she would go into more detail regarding the situation.

“I just want to process and get through this,” Richards said. “It has not been easy, so your messages mean a lot during this time.”

The Drop Dead Gorgeous star and Phypers married in 2018, but earlier this summer, he filed for divorce. Since then, things have gotten messy between the former couple, and in July, a judge granted Richardson a temporary restraining order against Phypers after she claimed he had been abusive to her during their time together.

Phypers adamantly denied the allegations and told Us Weekly that they were “not true.”
