Sam Asghari is happy his ex-wife, Britney Spears, is seeking treatment following her March arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in California.

On Wednesday, April 22, the model, 32, was asked by TMZ cameras what he thought of the pop star, 44, going to rehab, to which he responded, “I think it’s great.”

The Traitors alum added he thinks “anything to do with healing” is a good thing, “as long as the person is in charge of that.”

Last month, Asghari — who wed Spears in 2022 and separated from her in 2023 — appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and spoke about the “Toxic” hitmaker’s legal troubles.

“Even though we were married for one year, we were together for seven years, so my values for her [and] my respect for her always stands,” he stated. “I’m a strong believer that she needs her privacy, and everybody makes mistakes. If she made a mistake, I really think she’s a strong woman, and she could come back from this.”

As Star previously reported, a representative for the mom of two — who shares Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, with ex-husband Kevin Federline — told People on Sunday, April 12, that the singer had checked herself into a treatment facility.

“This isn’t about one substance in particular, it has a dual purpose,” a source told Page Six at the time. “This is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking some time for herself to focus on the things that are important to her.”

“She’s dedicated to working on her health. This is something she really wants to do for herself. This was her own decision,” the source insisted. “Everyone just wants Britney to be healthy and in a good place and the fact that this was her decision just proves how dedicated she is to her own recovery and getting herself back on solid ground.”

A representative for Spears shared a statement with Star in March after the incident, revealing, “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
