Blake Shelton didn’t attend the opening night of wife Gwen Stefani‘s No Doubt residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, but it wasn’t his fault – he had his own concert to perform at.
“What kind of a d**khead books us the exact same nights every single night?” Shelton, 49, jokingly asked the crowd at his show on Wednesday, May 6, in an audio clip obtained by TMZ. “I think my manager did that.”
While Stefani, 56, performed with No Doubt at the Sphere, the “Ol’ Red” singer was down the street at The Colosseum performing for an audience of his own.
Shelton and Stefani met during their time as judges on The Voice in 2014, when he was married to Miranda Lambert and she was married to Gavin Rossdale. They later divorced their respective spouses and married each other in 2021, though rumors about their relationship have swirled ever since.
“It’s become a talking point amongst friends and fans that they’re living separate lives,” the source shared at the time. “A lot of people think the magic’s started to wear off.”
However, Shelton has remained adamant that he and Stefani won’t ever call it quits.
“Blake went through so much turmoil when he and Miranda split, it was probably the lowest time in his life and something he’d do anything to avoid experiencing ever again,” a separate source told Star last month. “He adores Gwen and is adamant that divorce is never going to be an option for them, even if they have to endure some tough times.”
That doesn’t mean they’re necessarily out of the woods just yet, though.
“But all this patching up and pushing problems down the road isn’t helping them in the long run,” the source added. “They need to find permanent solutions to their issues if they want to last — that’s the bottom line.”
