Aubrey Plaza’s Heartbreaking Loss: New Details Emerge About Husband Jeff Baena’s Tragedy
Three months after the shock suicide of Aubrey Plaza’s husband, director Jeff Baena, at 47, new details are emerging about the tragedy. According to an autopsy report released by the L.A. County Medical Examiner March 19, the Parks and Recreation alum had separated from Jeff in September, four months before his Jan. 3 death, and was living in New York City while he remained in their L.A. home.
The report also reveals that Aubrey was worried about her estranged mate’s well-being. “In October 2024, Baena made concerning remarks to [her] which prompted her to call a friend to perform a welfare check on her husband,” the report reads. “Baena had been attending therapy since that event.”
Though Jeff had sent a text to Aubrey that morning, a dog walker found his lifeless body at 10:25 a.m., adds the report. No Suicide note was found. Aubrey, 40, has called Jeff’s death “an unimaginable tragedy.”
