With her directorial debut getting plenty of buzz, Anna Kendrick isn’t just reveling in her success — she’s doing something to help others. In a recent interview, the 39-year-old revealed that she’s donating her salary from Netflix’s Woman of the Hour — which she also stars in — to RAINN (the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and the National Center for Victims of Crime.

The film tells the true-life tale of the brutal serial killer Rodney Alcala’s stint on The Dating Game, his early victims and the contestant who chooses him for a date. Anna says it was only after she completed the film that she realized it might actually turn a profit.

“It was like, ‘Oh, there’s money going to be changing hands,’ and I sort of asked myself the question, ‘Do you feel gross about this?’” she told SiriusXM’s Crime Junkie AF podcast. “And I did.” Clarifying that she wasn’t making money off others’ pain, she added, “That felt like the least that I should do.”
