On this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the ladies’ disastrous dinner party continued with NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey trying to figure out what went wrong with their friendship. A surprisingly emotional and tearful NeNe tells her former BFF, “I loved you like a sister,” while Cynthia attributes the ending of their friendship to NeNe called her husband, Peter Thomas, a “bitch” last season.
In perhaps the season’s realest moment, NeNe apologizes to Cynthia, telling her she “would’ve changed whatever [the problem] was in order to continue [their] friendship.” Cynthia agrees and wants to move on and be friends again, and the two reunited pals hug and leave the restaurant arm-in-arm.
Hold on, though. Not so fast.
When a giddy Cynthia shares the news with her husband, he isn’t happy. He admits to being in “paradise” during Cynthia’s six month estrangement from the soon-to-be Broadway star, and tells his wife he doesn’t even want to hear NeNe’s name in the house.
But there’s not much time for Cynthia to dwell on the rift between her husband and friend, because she heads to New York to walk in Kithe Brewster’s show for Fashion Week, while Kandi Burruss is there visiting her husband, Todd, who’s in town on business. While Kithe teases Cynthia about her “Kim Kardashian” size ass, Todd and Kandi bicker about — what else? — her mother, Mama Joyce.
Kandi wants Todd to move on from her mom’s past hurtful comments, but he can’t, and neither can his mother, Miss Sharon, who made it clear during a family dinner that she wants to punch Mama Joyce in the face!
Back in Atlanta, Phaedra Parks puts her law degree to good use to represent a celebrity stylist, Derek J, who was accused of swapping a client’s expensive weave with a cheaper version.
