If Cameron Diaz is planning to marry Benji Madden, she doesn’t want anyone to know it just yet! For weeks, the couple has been the subject of engagement rumors, and in the new issue of Cosmopolitan, the actress simply refused to answer either way regarding the official status of the relationship.
She did, however, give us some insight into her love life, revealing what makes things work with her new-ish love. “You have to find someone in the same place as you are,” she tells the mag. “Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never gonna work. You’re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.”
The Annie star has famously dated fellow celebs like Alex Rodriguez, Justin Timberlake and Matt Dillon, but has yet to walk down the aisle. “Here’s the thing,” she said of her exes. “You make the same mistake over and over again until you learn your lesson. We girls sometimes do the thing where we pick the same person over and over again — they look and seem different, but deep down, they’re the same. And that’s on us.”
Needless to say, the world is definitely on ring watch — a refusal to comment certainly isn’t a denial!
