Following the controversial Bachelor finale, the general consensus has been that things are going to end sooner rather than later for Juan Pablo Galavis and his winning lady, Nikki Ferrell. However, the couple isn’t giving up on making things work, and even met with marriage counselors from Marriage Boot Camp to get some insight.
“A lot of people are saying that he’s commitment phobic or he’s not ready for commitment, but we were actually seeing a different side of him,” counselor Elizabeth Carroll admitted (via PerezHilton.com). “Not only is he not commitment phobic, he is very serious about commitment. That’s why he didn’t jump into the engagement right away, because it’s very serious to him.”
After giving Nikki his final rose on The Bachelor, JP declined to get down on one knee. What angered viewers the most, though, was when she revealed he had yet to say, “I love you,” months after the show ended. “He is a very strong leader, he’s masculine, he doesn’t like to compromise a lot, and he’s got a good value system,” Jim Carroll added, of the single dad. “Nikki is more nurturing, sympathetic and she’s more feminine in her values.”
Jim added that the duo has “marriage on their minds,” and complimented Juan Pablo’s decision not to rush into an engagement before really getting to know Nikki off the show.
