Let’s hope Chris Soules has better luck in his quest for love than Juan Pablo Galavis did last year! The controversial Bachelor chose Nikki Ferrell in his final rose ceremony, and after several months of dating, the pair decided to end things in October. And during Monday night’s premiere of Chris’ season, Nikki finally opened up about what went wrong.
“It didn’t end because we didn’t love each other or [over] a lack of communication,” she told host Chris Harrison. “It just ended because of a difference of lifestyle. There was a point we said we love each other, like in a normal relationship.”
Of course, just that step was a big deal. JP received a lot of criticism for refusing to say those three words at the live reunion show for his season in March, but Nikki stood by him, and the pair even tried working on their relationship on Couples Therapy. “It’s not from a lack of trying on either side,” Nikki continued. “It’s just, I’m a nurse in Kansas City, he lives in Miami and is in the entertainment industry. That’s his job. That’s his lifestyle. It was really hard for me to fit into that.”
In defense of the couple’s questionable relationship, Nikki added, “We tried. We real-life tried, not TV-tried.”
