“I was born to be a dad” aren’t exactly words you’d expect to come out of Simon Cowell’s mouth! Yet, in his first interview since welcoming son, Eric, almost three weeks ago, the former X-Factor judge said just that.
In fact, it looks like baby Eric may even be getting a brother or sister at some point in the future. “I wouldn’t rule it out,” he told Extra. “I’ve got [dogs] Squiddly and Diddly, and I couldn’t imagine Squiddly or just Diddly. And I had a brother when I was younger, so I think it’s kind of cool to have two…or three…..two.”
The 54-year-old made headlines over the summer when he knocked up Lauren Silverman, who, at the time, was married to his friend. She has since gotten divorced and is now dating Simon. “I actually said to Lauren beforehand, ‘What if I like the dogs better than [Eric]?'” he recalled. “Because I’d never had a baby before! And she said, ‘You’re going to be absolutely fine. Literally, within seconds of him being born…I got it.”
