It looks like two more popstars are ready to battle it out! Over the weekend, a minor Twitter feud ensued between Adam Levine and Lady Gaga.
“Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn’t make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher,” the Maroon 5 frontman wrote on Friday. He added, “I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That’s It. It doesn’t need any extra sauce.”
Although the singer makes no direct reference to Gaga, she certainly felt he was targeting her. “uh guys the art police is here,” she tweeted the next day.
In the video for her new single “Applause,” the 27-year-old does make references to several famous works of art, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume Adam’s comments were directed towards her.
Adam will return to television tonight for Season 5 of The Voice, while Lady Gaga is currently promoting her upcoming studio album, due out in November.
