Amanda Bynes is staying true to what she’s been telling us all along — she’s not crazy! On Thursday, a judge approved the actress’ doctor’s request for a 2-week extension of Amanda’s stay in the hospital for mental evaluation, but now she’s fighting back.
Amanda’s lawyer reportedly filed documents for an emergency hearing that will lift the extension, therefore allowing her to leave the psych ward. The former Nickelodeon star is expected to be present at the hearing today (2 p.m. PST).
Earlier this morning, Amanda’s parents had a court hearing of their own, where they requested temporary conservatorship of their daughter. A judge ruled against them, though, arguing that nothing had to be done just yet because Amanda still has two weeks left in custody. A new hearing for the conservatorship is set for August 9, and before then, the judge plans on having a one-on-one with Amanda, talking to her doctors, and getting a recommendation from her lawyer about how best to proceed.
Of course, if the judge grants Amanda’s wish to lift the psych ward extension, things could change pretty quickly. Stay tuned…
