It may seem like Ariana Grande has claimed the signature pony style, but don’t be fooled the 22-year-old is wearing it as a trademark for her brand. “Her hair is a mess—what’s left of it anyway,” says a source.
"It's destroyed at the ends, and the reason she scrapes it back into a high ponytail all the time is because it's kind of patchy on top," dishes the tipster.
Even though the pop singer looks to have a wealthy amount of hair (don't we all kill for that high-volume ponytail?), a majority of it isn't Ariana's real hair. She has to "wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined," Ariana posted at one point.
Not sure if we'd be that honest, but Ariana blames her starring role as Cat on the show Victorious and Sam & Cat—where her hair was bleached and dyed until strands were left more ratchet than ever.
"She's scared that if she tries another style, the bald areas will show," says the insider. "The only way to fix it would be to shave it off and start again. But she's not going to do that."
