Sorry, Mariah Carey, but no one’s going to be able to pull this off quite like Beyonce did! In the new issue of Billboard, the former American Idol judge revealed that she plans to release her new album’s title, track listing, artwork and music all at once, digitally.
“I have to be the one that announces this, especially the title,” she explained, adding that the name “comes from a personal possession of mine that’s part of an entity that I’ve had almost my whole life.”
(Back in December, Beyonce shocked fans everywhere when she released an album on iTunes with zero promotion).
Mariah is looking to make a comeback after her last album, 2009’s Memoir of an Imperfect Angel, performed poorly on the charts. However, she revealed that this upcoming record is about more than sales. “You would think I would be all about the singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular album I want my fans to hear it as a body of work,” she said. “This is my life since we last left off.”
