Over the weekend, Miley Cyrus performed her latest hit “Wrecking Ball” live for the first time. Unfortunately, the emotional message of the song got to the singer in front of thousands of fans at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.
The 20-year-old broke into tears while singing the ballad, but luckily, she was able to compose herself and continue belting out the lyrics. Her reaction is certainly no surprise, considering just last week it was confirmed that her engagement to Liam Hemsworth was officially called off.
“Wrecking Ball” is the second single off of Miley’s upcoming album Bangerz, which will be released on Oct. 8. She’s spent the last several weeks promoting the album, and will continue to do so by hosting Saturday Night Live on Oct. 5. No better time than a breakup to be keeping busy!
