Jimmy Fallon’s alter ego, Sara — without an H because H’s are ew! — is back! This time, the late night host was joined by Will.i.Am for his funny “EW!” skit, and the pair, dressed as female, teenage BFFs, premiered a music video in which they sing about girl stuff that’s just so “Ew!”
Sporting orthodontic gear, wigs and girly clothes, Sara and mir.i.am rap about things that annoy them, like “impleggies” (butt implants), FaceTime and duck lips.
Celebrities like Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Seth Rogen have joined The Tonight Show host in past “Ew!” sketches, and on Tuesday, Jimmy opened up about how the most recent collaboration came about.
“We had Will.i.Am on the show about two months ago, he’s performing a song, he’s amazing, and then backstage we’re talking and he goes, ‘I really like that sketch that you do, ‘Ew!’ where you dress up as a 15-year-old girl and everything is like, ‘Ew!'” he told Ryan Seacrest. “I said, ‘You know, we’re doing it with Taylor Swift this week, but next time you come back, I’ll write you in and we’ll do one.’ And then he goes, ‘Great, or we can do a song. I’d love to do a song about you.'”
After exchanging e-mails, Will.i.Am wrote and produced the song in just three days. “Before me and the writers could even write any lyrics, he sent me a full-on, produced song,” Jimmy added. “So then he flies to New York, I go to a recording studio. We’re in the studio [and] we tweak it a little and I write some raps for myself. So this is me rapping as well, which is sad.”
The song is now available for download on iTunes, with proceeds going to the SeriousFun Children’s Network and i.am.angel Foundation.
