Travis Kelce Admits He’s ‘Trying to Figure Out’ His ‘Future in Football’ Amid Retirement Rumors
His season with the Kansas City Chiefs ended with no trip to the Super Bowl. Now tight end Travis Kelce is considering moving on from the football field.
On the Jan. 7 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, the 36-year-old admitted that the team’s Jan. 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders was “a tough way to go out,” but said he was looking forward to “being a regular human for a couple of weeks, maybe a month or so, trying to figure out what I’m gonna do next in terms of my future in football,” noting, “It’s a tough thing to navigate.” There to help: fiancée Taylor Swift.
A source tells Star the singer, also 36, sees both sides of the quandary. “She thinks he has a huge world waiting for him outside football, but also worries how he’ll fare emotionally when he does hang up his cleats,” says the source. “It’s been the cornerstone of his life for so long now.”
