Tom Cruise’s Celibacy Pact

The man can fill theaters and do all his own stunts. When it comes to getting dates, however, Tom Cruise has been falling flat. Now an insider tells Star that the 62-year-old — who attended a Catholic seminary before turning to acting — has taken a temporary vow of celibacy! “Tom’s just not the kind of guy who’s going to dive into a relationship just for the thrill of it,” explains the insider. “It’s crucial for him to form a real connection before jumping into intimacy.”

There’s another part of his plan. According to the insider, the Oscar winner thinks abstaining from sex is good for him! “He’s really big on the health benefits of this approach, saying he feels more centered, focused and even healthier without that aspect of his life constantly in motion,” adds the insider. “Tom’s all about self-improvement right now.”

That’s not to say the devoted Scientologist, worth a reported $600 million, plans to swear off women forever. “He would absolutely love to get married someday,” says the source. “The whole ‘celibacy’ thing might seem old-fashioned to some, but for Tom, it’s all about preserving his energy and waiting for the right person.”
