The Opera War Is Over — But the Real Battle Begins in ‘The Gilded Age’ Season 3
Season 2 of The Gilded Age proved nouveau is better than no riche at all as upstart Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) triumphed over her old-money rivals, sisters Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon) and Agnes Van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) in the Opera War.
But as season 3 opens, Ada and Agnes’ financial positions have been reversed, leading to a power struggle, while business troubles threaten the Russells’ empire. And both families have children to marry off.
Will the kiss Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) and Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) shared in the final episode lead to a love match — and a détente between the families?
