‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Return Date and A-List Guests Announced Following Brandon Blackstock’s Death

An official date has been set for Kelly Clarkson’s return to TV following the tragic death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Season 7 of her eponymous talk show — which is filmed in front of a live audience in New York City — will premiere on September 29, according to an NBC press release, via Page Six.

Celebrities including Julia Roberts, Dwayne Johnson, Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum and Reese Witherspoon are scheduled to appear on the show when production begins the week of September 8, according to Deadline.

During the first week of the show, Clarkson, who had to cancel her performance at Miranda Lambert’s Texas flood relief benefit in August following Blackstock’s death, will pay tribute to the heroes who rescued campers during the disaster in July.

Though the American Idol winner, 43, is appearing in her pre-recorded Songs & Stories specials in August and September, she had put some of her other commitments on hold.

On August 6, the day before Blackstock died at 48 following a lengthy battle with melanoma, Clarkson postponed shows in her Las Vegas residency.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill. At this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote via Instagram. “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
