Sydney Sweeney ‘Trying to Be Sympathetic’ to Ex-Fiance While ‘Enjoying Her Time’ With Scooter Braun

Sydney Sweeney recently insisted she’s on the market — and not on the prowl.

“I’m single… [but] I don’t think I’m looking for a man right now,” she told GQ, adding that she’s “strong and independent.” The Christy star, 28, confessed to being “a hopeless romantic” and open to meeting the right guy. “I hope love finds me.”

Despite her self-professed solo status, Sydney has been linked to Scooter Braun since September, after ending her three-year engagement to Jonathan Davino in March — and neither entanglement appears to have ended. Sydney had a tense confrontation with Jonathan, 42, on Nov. 1 and was spotted on a cozy comedy club date with Scooter, 44, two days later. The next day, they set out from their NYC hotel hand in hand.

A source claims Sydney “is enjoying her time with Scooter” while still “trying to be sympathetic” to Jonathan. “Sydney and Jonathan still have mutual friends and a business [Fifty-Fifty Films] they’re involved in. So they meet up, but it can get tense. He’s not coping well with being just friends, and she’s over the relationship.”

As for claiming singlehood, the source suggests Sydney, who rarely discusses her love life, is deliberately keeping mum on her relationship with Scooter. “It’s hard to imagine she’d ever discuss her romantic situation in an interview. She goes out of her way to keep her private life private.”
