Steve Carrell Intervenes in His Daughter’s Troubled Marriage in HBO Comedy ‘Rooster’

Greg Russo (Steve Carrell) is a popular author who does a reading at the college where his daughter Katie (Charly Clive) is a professor. When he learns her husband (Phil Dunster) is cheating on her, he goes into helicopter dad mode and intervenes, with predictably unhelpful results.

Meanwhile the campus bros mistake the mild-mannered Russo for his most famous character, the macho Rooster, and (ill-advisedly) prod him to reinvent himself as a studly party guy. Carrell rules the comedy roost in this funny, good-natured series.
