Kody Brown had an awkward moment with his ex-wives, Meri Brown and Janelle Brown.
In a sneak peek of the Sunday, November 16, episode of Sister Wives, obtained byPeople, the TLC star, 56, and his wife, Robyn Brown, meet up with Meri, 54, and Janelle, 56, on their land in Flagstaff, Arizona — known as Coyote Pass — before it was sold.
However, upon arriving, Meri and Janelle each stayed in their cars, so Kody and Robyn followed suit.
“Kody and I just pulled up, and Meri and Janelle are sitting in their cars,” Robyn recounted to cameras. “I’m like, okay, it was a message. Message was, you know, we don’t need to interact.”
Janelle shared in her confessional that she was confused about the situation.
“I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know if we’re waiting for something,” she recalled. “I just want to go home. I want to go back to my hotel, get on some sweats and sit and watch TV or whatever. Just something.”
“Are you having a prayer?” Meri remarked in her confessional. “Please Lord, pray for peace because I have to go see my exes.”

The father of 18 laughed at the situation, telling Robyn, “Nobody’s getting out of their cars.”
He then explained in his confessional that they were waiting for someone else to “show up.”
“We wouldn’t naturally want to meet with Meri and Janelle on Coyote Pass after all we’ve been through,” Kody admitted. “Meri and I’ve been talking through lawyers for two or three months. Well, with Meri, I’ve never known what I was going to get, ever.”
Janelle described the situation to cameras, laughing, “It’s a standoff, I guess. It’s a standoff at the Coyote Pass final showdown or something. I don’t know.”
According to People, the group purchased the property in 2018 as they wanted to build a family compound before Meri and Janelle left Kody. Christine Brown — who split from Kody in 2021 — sold her land back to him in August 2022. Coyote Pass was finally sold for $1.5 million in April.
