Shannen Doherty’s Ex Claims Their Divorce Settlement Should Have Never Been Filed

Shannen Doherty died in 2024, but her estate is still unsettled. On Jan. 14, the actress’ ex-husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, filed legal documents in L.A. Superior Court challenging their divorce settlement, according to Fox News.

The 51-year-old alleges that their divorce — which was finalized just before Shannen’s July 13, 2024, death at age 53 after a yearslong battle with cancer — was brought in the wrong court and is arguing that the divorce case should have been put to an end when Shannen died and the settlement should not have been filed. His claims come after attorneys for Shannen and the trustee of her family trust alleged in November that Kurt still owes money to the estate as part of the divorce settlement. Among other things, they allege he failed to list a Texas house for sale, didn’t pay a share from the sale of an airplane and has “refused to return items of personal property,” including photographs of Shannen.

Kurt’s objections are particularly wrenching considering the end of the marriage. In 2023, Shannen shared on her podcast that she discovered her husband had been cheating on her just before going in for surgery to remove a brain tumor. “I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,” the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum said. “At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart.”
