Ryan Reynolds is facing backlash after offending an entire state with what fans are calling a distasteful jab at Minnesota while promoting his new boxed-wine brand, Ugly Estates.
As Daily Mail reports, the Deadpool actor, 49, told the Star Tribune he launched his low-cost wine exclusively in Minnesota for a specific reason.
“You want to go to places that will get it,” Reynolds said. “I don’t think Martha’s Vineyard is going to really embrace this the way Minnesota might.”

Minnesotans didn’t find the humor intoxicating in the least. “News flash to Ryan — most people who drink wine here don’t drink boxed wine,” snapped one via Instagram.
“He thinks Minnesotans are cheap and lack taste,” wrote another.
Reynolds also went on to describe the state as an “underdog” and filled with people who are freezing their “butt off in the winter months.”
“What is this guy even saying?? The whole marketing strategy behind this is so bizarre… like who does he think hes enticing??’” another fan wrote in response to Reynolds.
For those who imbibe, the line offers chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon.
