Stop me if you’ve heard this story — a Danish prince (Riz Ahmed) is visited by the father’s ghost, who reveals he was murdered by the young man’s stepfather/king (Art Malik) and demands he get revenge.

What makes this Hamlet distinct from the dozens of other versions is the setting — a corporation replaces the castle, modern London stands in for medieval Denmark and South Asians sub for Scandinavians. The updates and Ahmed’s charged performance give the sometimes dusty classic the intensity of a thriller. To see or not to see, there is no question — get thee to the cinema!
