Real Housewives of Potomac star Nneka Ihim is living through a real-life nightmare after finding herself stranded in Jamaica as Hurricane Melissa made landfall on Tuesday, October 28.
The 38-year-old attorney and reality star — who recently welcomed her son, Noah, now 5 months, with husband Dr. Ikenna Ihim — shared a dramatic video from the balcony of her Montego Bay hotel as fierce winds blew and palm trees bent in the driving rain in the background.
“When we heard the storm was coming, we tried to leave,” she told fans on Instagram of the historymaking Category 5 hurricane. “But the country closed the airports… I’m not here by choice.”

Though it was a scene fraught with chaos and uncertainty, Ihim said that the resort staff did everything they could to keep guests safe, fed and entertained by “playing music” and “playing games and trying to keep us distracted from what’s going on outside.”
Friends and fans were quick to share well wishes for Ihim amid emerging images from the island of rushing flood waters, overturned cars and beaches strewn with boats reduced to piles of wood and twisted metal.
“Praying for the safety of you, your family, and the amazing citizens of Jamaica!” one fan commented.
“Thank God the resort is being accommodating! Praying for your safe return!!!!!” wrote her RHOP costar Candiace Dillard Bassett.
