All Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is to have the holiday market to herself!
A source tells Starthe diva, 56, is worried about other singers coming for her Queen of Christmas crown — especially Sabrina Carpenter.
The “Manchild” songstress, 26, has been stepping on Carey’s turf for the past two years, releasing an EP titled Fruitcake in 2023 and starring in her own Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas, in 2024.
After the latter aired, Carpenter’s yuletide-themed album — which features songs like “Buy Me Presents,” “Cindy Lou Who” and “Santa Doesn’t Know You Like I Do” — reentered the Billboard 200 at No. 10 and broke the record for the largest sales week for a holiday album on vinyl.
“It’s never good to have someone more than half your age with a massive fan base trying to come after your business — and make no mistake, that is how Mariah views Christmas,” a source dishes to Star. “Sabrina seems to be biting at her heels.”

Though it’s unclear exactly what holiday magic Carpenter has planned for 2025, Carey had already begun performing her seasonal classics, including “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” while on tour in Asia back in October.
“Mariah’s made Christmas a cottage industry for herself,” adds the source. “She rakes in so much money from it, but like most artists, she always fears someone could come along and take that from her. Plenty certainly try — they see all the money she’s making and they want a piece of it!”
