Priscilla Presley shares intimate details of her life with Elvis Presley in her upcoming memoir — and how their relationship changed dramatically when they became parents to Lisa Marie just nine months after their May 1, 1967 wedding.
“Elvis lost interest in me sexually once Lisa was born,” Priscilla, 80, writes in Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, which has been obtained by Star, explaining the singer was “never able to make love to a woman who’d had a child.”
Despite her attempts to seduce him with sexy lingeries and makeup, “nothing worked,” Priscilla writes in the memoir, which is due out on Tuesday, September 23. “Elvis remained flirtatious and very affectionate with me, but that was all.”
The King of Rock and Roll “was hesitant to have another child,” she explains “After all, I had gotten pregnant the first time we made love. His hesitation intensified my fears.”

Priscilla previously addressed their sex life in her 1985 book, Elvis and Me, which was the basis for the 2023 film, Priscilla.
They finally had sex several months after Lisa Marie’s birth, Priscilla wrote in Elvis and Me. “Before we made love, he told me I was a young mother now, that being the mother of his child is very special. But I wrote in my diary, ‘I am beginning to doubt my own sexuality as a woman. My physical and emotional needs were unfulfilled.’ ”
Suffering from loneliness and anxiety over Elvis’ rejection, she writes in her new memoir, “I felt like I was, as the song goes, caught in a trap with no way out. Small wonder I became involved in an affair with my karate instructor, Mike Stone.”
