Princess Kate has debuted her most jaw-dropping look yet.
On Wednesday, December 3, the official Instagram account for The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a photo of Kate, 43, posing alongside a tuxedo-clad Prince William. “Looking forward to a special banquet tonight in Windsor,” the caption read.
Paired with a shimmering blue Jenny Packham gown and earrings once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Princess of Wales’ sparkling entrance instantly stole the spotlight.
Her choice of tiara carried a deeper meaning. According to Gerrard, the piece was originally crafted in 1853 for Queen Victoria under the direction of her husband, Prince Albert — who was born in Germany — a nod to the event, which was hosted in honor of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s state visit.
The dazzling headpiece is set with rubies and more than 2,600 diamonds. Per People, the tiara hasn’t been seen in public since Queen Elizabeth wore it in 2005.
The appearance marks a glamorous return for the princess to full royal duties following her cancer remission announcement earlier this year.
