Princess Kate is celebrating her 44th birthday with a reflection on Mother Nature and how grateful she is to be able to look back and learn from the past year.
The Princess of Wales posted a video to her official royal Instagram account on January 9 that depicts her in picturesque and serene scenes of nature. All of the shots show her in the cold weather, which is seemingly by design.

“Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience and quiet consideration,” a voiceover from Kate begins. “Where the stream slows just enough for us to see our own reflection, to discover the deepest parts of ourselves alongside the whispers and the pulse of every living thing.”
Kate also noted she’s taken the opportunity to reflect on the past year, which has certainly been a unique one for her. After announcing she had cancer in March of 2024, she took a step back from her royal duties to undergo chemotherapy. In January of 2025, she announced she was in remission and slowly began returning to her duties in the public eye after the intense health scare.

“I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am,” she concluded. “For the rivers within us flow with ease, fears washed away. Cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive. To be at one with nature, a quiet teacher and a soft voice that guides. In memory, helping us to heal.”
In the caption for the video post, Kate stated the obvious, which is that this video series is deeply personal for her. She called it a “creative reflection on how nature has helped me heal.”
