Prince Harry looked chipper as he arrived at an Invictus Games event in London Sept. 10. He had every reason to be: Earlier that day, the 40-year-old had his first meeting with his estranged father, King Charles III, in 19 months, leading royal watchers to believe that reconciliation is in the works.

At 5:20, Harry arrived at Clarence House, where Charles, 76, lives with Queen Camilla, 78, for a private tea, per The New York Times. The sitdown lasted 55 minutes — far longer than their 15-minute meeting in February 2024 after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer. Asked about his father’s health at the Invictus event, a smiling Harry replied, “He’s great, thank you,” according to Daily Mail.

Harry was in town for four days, visiting his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s grave and attending to various charites. The Duke of Sussex, who left royal life in 2020 to move with wife Meghan to Montecito, Calif., also announced a $1.5 million personal donation to the BBC’s Children in Need. At times, he seemed like his old self, playfully crossing swords with kids at the Well Child Awards and joking when he arrived late to the Invictus event that people might be “drunk.”

While things are looking up for Harry and his father, his brother, Prince William, 43 still seems to be icing him out. They did not cross paths during Harry’s visit, though at one point they were less than eight miles apart.
