Like countless families this fall, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took their kids, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, to the pumpkin patch, posting a cute clip of the outing on Instagram Oct. 26.

The video also showed Harry carving a jack-o’-lantern alongside Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, in the backyard of the couple’s $14.65 million Montecito, Calif., home. “They had a blast at the pumpkin patch,” an insider tells Star. “It was a real treat for the kids.”

The prince, 41, recently appeared on comedian Hasan Minhaj’s podcast, where he admitted his children don’t exactly know what he does. “They know I help other people,” he said, referring to his philanthropic efforts. He also gamely tried out an American accent and revealed that the “most American” thing he does is surf.

The source says that Harry and Meghan, 44, love being in Montecito, where they are “out and about more than people realize.” In addition to their outing to the pumpkin patch, the pair shop at local farmers’ markets, take hikes in the local parks and make an effort to be a part of their community.
“Being able to blend in as a regular guy is one of the big reasons Harry loves America so much,” says the insider. “People don’t bother them even when they’re recognized, which is refreshing for Harry, unlike when he was a royal.”
