Pierce Brosnan’s Wife Keely Shaye Honors The Day They Met With Epic Throwback

Keely Shaye Brosnan doesn’t think that a couple’s walk down the aisle is the only romantic milestone to celebrate, recently taking to social media to honor the day she met her husband, Pierce Brosnan.

“Happy Anniversary my love!” she captioned her Instagram post. “4-8-94 was my lucky day.”

31 years after the Hollywood couple met at a party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Keely, 61, toasted Pierce, 71, with a 15-photo carousel that included pictures of the couple over the years. It kicked off with a clip from the Star Tracks section of People, which announced that Pierce was in London filming his debut as James Bond. The attached photo was taken at the premiere of Brad Pitt’s blockbuster Legends of the Fall and referred to Keely as Pierce’s “real-life Bond girl.”

“April 26,1995–Our first red carpet appearance in London,” Keely wrote in the post’s caption. “Still stepping out 31 years later.”

While the couple met in 1994, they waited to marry until August 4, 2001, when they said “I do” at Ballintubber Abbey in northwestern Ireland. The A-list reception was held afterward at Ashford Castle, for which Keely — a TV journalist — changed gowns.

When Keely and Pierce met, he was a grieving widower, having lost his first wife, Cassandra Harris, to ovarian cancer in 1991. He was also raising the couple’s three children, Charlotte, 53, Christopher, 52, and Sean, 41. After Keely and Pierce married, they had two sons, Dylan, 28, and Paris, 24.

While the majority of the photos in Keely’s anniversary post are nostalgic snapshots from the couple’s glamorous early days, Keely also included some more recent pics. In one, she and Pierce are glowing in golden hour light on vacation. There are also several red carpet snaps, including a stunning black tie photo of the couple from the April 3 premiere of George Clooney’s Broadway hit Good Night, and Good Luck.

Fans immediately took to the comments to offer the couple their good wishes.

“One of my favorite couples,” wrote one. “You are so beautiful inside and out.”

Another added, “Wishing you both many more happy years together,” while a third called the famous couple’s journey “the most magical love story.”
