Michelle Duggar's Wild, Shocking Past Of Secrets—Her Past Life Exposed In Photos!

Michelle told her daughters they were only allowed to wear loose clothing and long skirts, basically "from the neck down to the knee should be covered." But flipping through Springdale High School photos revealed that Michelle actually showed off a lot of skin herself in mini skirts at their age!

Before she married Jim Bob Duggar, Michelle Ruark's neighbors "used to complain because she'd mow the lawn in a bikini and wear short skirts!" Raymond Yeatman, whose daughter Lisa was a high school friend of Michelle, told Star magazine.

She "was a very pretty, very popular cheerleader who definitely dated a few guys before Jim Bob," a source says about her being "part of that group" that partied with the jocks.

"They were always trying to get her to cover up her legs. And so were her parents," Yeatman says.

Even a former classmate of Michelle's was shocked about Michelle's current conservative lifestyle. "I've seen commercials for the show, but I never in a million years would've believed that's Michelle!" he said.

So what about her dating years? The reality parents enforce their children don't hold hands and only give side hugs until they walk down the aisle. Yet Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar admitted that they didn't follow those rules when they were dating—they got physical before their wedding.

And Jim Bob and Michelle didn't start having babies the instant they tied the knot. Michelle was actually on birth control. "Something we didn't know is that the pill can actually allow women to get pregnant, but then it can be aborted. That's what happened with Michelle," Jim Bob said about Michelle's miscarriage in 1988.

Sherri McFerrin who attended Springdale Senior High School together in the '80s said Michelle was "honestly one of the loveliest, sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. I don't understand what has happened to her heart. People can believe whatever they want. But when your beliefs are hateful and bigoted... and you [use] your words, actions, money and fame to further discriminate against an already marginalized group of people, you are a hateful bigot."

The mother of 19 also had an eating disorder struggle. In their book Growing Up Duggar, "she began to envy the girl who tried to control her weight through what turned out to be a destructive eating disorder."
