Mario Batali is set to be arraigned on indecent assault and battery charges in Boston on May 24. The celebrity chef was first accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in December 2017. He ended up taking a step back from his restaurant empire and television engagements.

She also filed a civil complaint against him in 2018. “Without asking her permission or giving her any warning, and without having received any indication that she had any sexual interest in him whatsoever, which she did not, Batali sexually assaulted her,” her lawyers wrote in the documents.

Batali’s lawyer said he denies the allegations. If convicted, he’d face up to two and a half years in jail and would have to register as a sex offender.
