Maria Arias, the girlfriend of the late Miami Marlin Jose Fernandez has spoken out following the birth of their daughter, Penelope.

Maria said that she and her newborn are “both healthy and doing well” after the Friday delivery, she told Peoplein a statement.

“[The baby] has not taken any of the pain away of course, because that’s always going to remain, but she’s definitely brightened up our lives," Maria said.
